The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore (Chinese: 新加坡丽思卡尔顿美年酒店) is a 32 floor luxury hotel located at Millenia Singapore, Marina Centre, Singapore. The hotel is run by The Ritz-Carlton group of hotels, and it has won several awards. The hotel was opened in 1996, developed and owned by the Kwee brothers' company Pontiac Land.

The Club Level is located on the 32nd floor, the top floor of the building and provides spectacular views of the Singapore skyline.

Notable guests

Taylor Swift stayed at the hotel in February 2011 whilst in Singapore promoting her Speak Now World Tour. Lady Gaga was originally staying at the Mandarin Oriental, Singapore whilst promoting her Born This Way Ball tour in May 2012; however, when the New Paper published that she was staying there, many fans were gathering outside the hotel, provoking her to move to The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore, which is next door.[1] The SMTown artists stayed for their sixth leg for SMTown Live World Tour III. They performed on 23 November 2012. It was reported that 286 hotel rooms were booked to accommodate all the staff and idols. Yoshiki from the Japanese super-band X-Japan stayed at the hotel in January 2015.

Facilities

The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore was designed by the architect, Kevin Roche, who won the Pritzker Prize, with DP Architects. The hotel has a 4,200 piece modern art collection which includes works by Frank Stella, Andy Warhol and Dale Chihuly. The interior design was done by Hirsch Bedner Associates.

The hotel has 608 guest rooms and suites. All guest rooms and bathrooms offer views of either Marina Bay or Kallang Bay and the city's skyline. At the top of the hotel is The Ritz-Carlton Club Lounge where guests pay for a dedicated concierge service, a private club lounge, and complimentary all-day culinary and beverage presentations.

Summer Pavilion, one of the hotel's restaurant, is set in a modern Chinese garden and serves intimate and sophisticated Cantonese cuisine. Summer Pavilion earned its first Michelin Star in the inaugural Michelin Guide Singapore 2016.[2] Colony is the hotel's all-day dining restaurant, featuring the best of Singapore's heritage cuisines with seven different conservatory kitchens helmed by 'live' culinary showmanship. Conference facilities include the 1,094-square metre Grand Ballroom, the Chihuly Room and 12 meeting and function rooms. The hotel also features a tropical-themed garden, 24-hour fitness centre and spa.[3]

Events

The 117th IOC Session, the New York delegation team stayed at the hotel. A number of products were launched at the hotel such as the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class. The hotel is designated as an IOC Hotel during the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics in Singapore and has successfully hosted the event, one of the highlights would be the 1st Summer Youth Olympic Games Opening Gala Dinner by the IOC President.The 14th edition of Pradhana Vizha also held here on 31 July 2014.[4]

The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore has been the venue for The Podium Lounge for eight consecutive years, which occurs during the Formula One Singapore Grand Prix season.

In 2010, “Brunch 78” – a 78-metre brunch spectacle which spanned the entire hotel's lobby was first introduced to showcase the combined expertise of the hotel’s culinary team, visiting guest chefs and the legendary service of The Ritz-Carlton Ladies and Gentlemen. Following its huge success, the name “SuperBrunch” was coined in 2011 and this extravagant brunch event is held bi-annually in March and October ever since.
