• 1393 - Besançon Town Hall built.

• 1537 - Besançon coat of arms adopted.
• 1540 - Palais Granvelle (Besançon) built.^[1]
• 1668 - Citadel of Besançon construction begins.
• 1674 - Siege of Besançon.
