Professional career
2015 season
Projected as a third-round draft pick[9][10] in the 2015 NFL draft, Flowers was drafted with the second pick of the fourth round, the 101st overall selection, by the New England Patriots. In the first preseason game against the Packers, Flowers sacked Aaron Rodgers but later left the game with a shoulder injury.[11] Flowers made the Patriots 53-man roster but was only active for one game before being placed on injured reserve on December 1, 2015.[12]
2016 season
Flowers recorded his first NFL sacks against Bills in Week 8 on Tyrod Taylor and EJ Manuel while tacking on five tackles. The following game against the Seahawks he recorded another two sacks against Russell Wilson in a 24-31 loss.
