The blue-headed crested flycatcher (Trochocercus nitens) is a species of bird in the Monarchidae family. It is found in Angola, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Ghana, Guinea, Liberia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, Togo, and Uganda. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests.
Subspecies
Two subspecies are recognized:[2]
- T. n. reichenowi - Sharpe, 1904: Found from Guinea to Togo
- T. n. nitens - Cassin, 1859: Found from Nigeria to southern Sudan, Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo and norh-western Angola
