Troy Roberts (born September 9, 1962) is an American television news reporter and correspondent for 48 Hours Mystery.

Biography

Roberts was born on September 9, 1962 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He graduated from University of California, Berkeley, with a bachelor's degree in Political Science in 1984. Roberts currently lives in New York City.[1]

Career

In 1985-87, Roberts worked as a host and producer of a weekly news magazine at KPIX-TV, a San Francisco-based CBS-owned television company. In 1987-90, he was a reporter for a Portland-based KATU-TV. In 1990, he moved to New York to work at another CBS-owned station WCBS-TV, reporting for Channel 2 This Morning and achoring local news segments during CBS Morning News. In 1993, he joined CBS News to co-anchor overnight broadcast of Up to the Minute, interviewing various news makers and personalities. From 1995 through 1996, Roberts co-anchored CBS Morning News.[1]

In 1994, he anchored CBS News reports from Winter Olympics held in Lillehammer, Norway, and covered many significant international events such as signing of Middle East peace accords and inauguration of Nelson Mandela. During the summer 1996, Roberts reported from the Summer Olympics held in Atlanta, and covered the Centennial Olympic Park bombing, for which he received an Emmy Award. In 1996, he covered news on presidential campaigns of Bill Clinton and Bob Dole. As correspondent of CBS Evening News, he also reported on investigative stories for Eye on America. Additionally, Roberts reported for CBS Evening News with Dan Rather, CBS This Morning and CBS News Sunday Morning.[1]

In December 1998, Roberts was assigned as a correspondent for 48 Hours Mystery.[1][2]
