Tyulachinsky District (Russian: Тюлячинский райо́н; Tatar: Теләче районы) is an administrative[1] and municipal[3] district (raion), one of the forty-three in the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia. It is located in the northwestern central part of the republic. The area of the district is 844.1 square kilometers (325.9 sq mi).[4] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Tyulyachi.[2] Population: 14,273(2010 Census);[5] 14,401 (2002 Census).[8] The population of Tyulyachi accounts for 22.9% of the district's total population.[5]

History

The district was established on February 10, 1935.[9] In 1959, it was merged into Sabinsky District, but was split back as Tyulyachinsky District on October 4, 1991.[4]
