UNAM Radio

UNAM Radio is the radio station of the University of Namibia. It broadcasts on 97.4 FM and is based in Windhoek.[1]

Established in the year 2000 Unam radio is part of the University of Namibia mission to increase practical and students involvement with media and also to highlight the universities activities to the wider community. (Tyson. p65). The radio station is mainly dedicated to the university students and also the young at heart. For those students from Unam they are always updated on what is happening on campus as not all work around to see the notices and adverts put up on campus. This station also introduces topics that affect the lives of the campus students daily, the students get to give their views and opinions on the topic this usually happens via text messages because this service is free for them to send their messages and makes it really affordable for the students. The radio station dedicates most of its time playing local music and the latest international music.
