The Union County Courthouse is the county courthouse for Union County, New Jersey located in the county seat of Elizabeth.[7] The 17 story, 238 feet (73 m) tall Neoclassical building, completed in 1931, is the tallest in the city.[1][8] It is a contributing property to the Mid-Town Historic District.[6]

According to a Who's Who directory, the courthouse was designed by architect Albert Randolph Ross.[9] According to Emporis, the 17-story tower building was designed by Oakley and Son. The courthouse complex includes a 3-story portion,[5] a 7-story annex building,[2] a 5-story annex building[4] and an 8-story court rooms addition building.[3]

As of May, 2015, peregrine falcons had been nesting on the courthouse for ten years.[10]
