Veliyathunad

Veliyathunad is a village in Paravur Taluk of Ernakulam district in the Indian state of Kerala. Veliyathunad is one of rarest greenery sights in Ernakulam, Even though Veliyathunad people is availing all benefits of a rural area, and not facing any problems of other rural areas because Veliyathunad is situated in the middle of Aluva and North Paravur. This Village is a part of Karumalloor panchayat. Veliyathunad is situated 7 kilometers from Aluva Railway Station, and 10 kilometers from North Paravur Bus Stand and 12 Kilometer from Cochin International Airport. The village consists of large tracts of paddy fields. Veliyathunad is bounded by distributaries of the Periyar river. Veliyathunad is mainly a rice-based agrarian economy. Due to losses in paddy farming lot of farmers change to banana farms.
