History
The station has undergone several name and format changes since its incarnation.
- It was assigned the call letters WXDZ on October 12th, 1989.
- On December 5th, 1989, the station changed its call sign to WBKL, becoming Cool 103.5, an oldies station.
- On December 6th, 1991, Cool 103.5 changed formats. It became Rock 103 with the call sign WDRK.
- On November 21st, 1997, Rock 103 became Mix 103 with the call sign WMXP.
- In 2001, the station became Max Country 103.
- On March 10th, 2004, Max Country 103 became Kat Country and changed the call sign to WAKT.
- On October 9th, 2012, the station changed its name to Kickin' 103.5 with the call sign WKNK.
