WOWZ is a Country formatted broadcast radio station licensed to Chincoteague, Virginia, serving Chincoteague and Accomac in Virginia and Pocomoke City in Maryland.[2] WOWZ is owned and operated by GSB Broadcasting.[4]

History

WOWZ signed on for the first time on August 29, 2016 and began stunting with a "wheel of formats".[1] At 10 AM the next day, the station officially launched with a Country format, branded as "Wow 101-5".[1] The first song on "Wow" was "Gone Country" by Alan Jackson.[1][5]
