WindSingers is a Hungarian a cappella group singing mostly jazz, its own pop arrangements, and the compositions of Kayamar who is also the bass singer of the group.
Founding
In 2011 Dóra Vers (mezzo), Veronika Földi (alto) and Márton Nagy-György (tenor) founded the group in the jazz faculty of the Franz Liszt Academy of Music. They started to cooperate with the singer-composer Viktor Magyaróvári (Kayamar), whom they knew from the Béla Bartók Conservatory of Music. Kayamar's bass-line (many articles count him as one of the lowest basses on earth)[1] and his arrangements highly determine the image of the group.
Recent activity
After a long year of practising and broadening their repertoire in the background, WindSingers started with a kick-start in the Etud-gala in one of the most prestigious Hungarian jazz venues, the Budapest Jazz Club[2] where they became regular guests. In their first tour abroad, WindSingers performed in Transylvania in multiple venues, after which in 2013 they were invited to one of the largest summer festivals of the Carpathian-basin, the Peninsula.[3] In the summer of 2013 the group won a silver diploma during the vokal.total acapella competition in Pop category.
