XERO CODER[1] was created with the open source project Lazarus/Free Pascal[2] and aims to be a development environment that encapsulates Grid Computing. XERO CODER includes the core libraries to create Live Applications that can perform on a Grid Computing System.
Grid powered applications are programs that are distributed over many computer server or client machines and exist in many instance nodes, the advantage of this distributed node system is that when the application is used the most economical node is triggered to complete a task or to provide a computation resource. In overall up to 25% energy can be saved compared to regular applications.
Universities such as Istanbul University, University of Phoenix, University of Birmingham [3] are using the XERO CODER IDE in their lectures about Grid Computing techniques because a human readable computational map (XML File) is generated by compiler that can be used to analyze the grid computation task and process theoretically.
XERO CODER is a cross-platform development IDE which provides a Visual RAD (Rapid Application Development) environment for FreeBSD, Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, and Mobile Devices.
