The yellow-fronted woodpecker (Melanerpes flavifrons) is a species of bird in the Picidae family. It is found in Brazil, Paraguay and far northeastern Argentina. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and heavily degraded former forest.
