Yoon Bo-ra (born January 30, 1990), most often credited as Bora, is a South Korean idol singer. She is best known as a member of the South Korean girl group Sistar and their sub-unit Sistar19.

Biography

Bora was born on January 30, 1990,[1] in Seoul, South Korea. She majored in musical theatre in Myongji University, and graduated in February 2015.[2]

Career

Sistar

In June 2010, Bora made her debut as a member of Sistar on KBS Music Bank with their debut single, Push Push[3]

In early 2011, Bora and group member Hyolyn formed as a sub-group Sistar19 with the single "Ma Boy".[4]

Solo Career

On October 17, 2011 it was revealed that Bora will be part of the new season of television show Invincible Youth. The first episode of ‘Invincible Youth 2′ aired on November 11th.[5]

On October 3, 2012 Bora appeared in Lee Seok Hun's new music video for "Because I Like You".[6] On the October 21, 2012 episode of the live music show Inkigayo, it was revealed that Bora would join one of four groups that would perform a new song for the SBS Gayo Daejeon music spectacular. As part of Mystic White, Bora released the charity song "Mermaid Princess" on December 26, 2012.[7] The group would go on to perform the song in a one off performance during the year end SBS Gayo Daejeon show.

On December 21, 2013 Bora won Best Rookie Awards (Music Bank) at the '2013 KBS Entertainment Awards' along with John Park.

On January 21, 2015 Bora was revealed to be the new MC for KBS World's new fashion show A Style For You together with Heechul, Hara and Hani.[8] On April 15, it was revealed that Bora will collaborate with Unpretty Rapstar contestants Kisum, Lil Cham, Jace and male artist Adoonga. Their collaboration song "Feedback" was released on April 28, 2015.[9] On April 27, it was revealed that Bora will starred in new web drama Flatterer. It was revealed that Bora will be playing the captain of a judo team, Bong Hee.[10] On July 14, it was revealed that Bora will join web drama High-End Crush starring Jung Ilwoo and Jin Seyeon, and will be released both in South Korea and China in September for 20 episodes. She played the supporting role of Minjoo .[11]

In June 2016, Bora was a contestant of Mnet's new dance survival show Hit the Stage for episodes 1-2 and 5-8.[12]
