Zhao Lin (Chinese: 赵琳; born 15 February 1966) is a former Chinese footballer. Zhao Lin was also included in the Chinese national squad that played during the 1992 AFC Asian Cup; however, he did not feature in any of the games.
Club career
Zhao Lin started his youth career with Dalian in 1983. in 1985, Zhao Lin joined Dalian, his position changed from striker to central defender.after 1989, Zhao Lin become the Dalian main force player. in 1994, Zhao Lin worked as a player of Dalian Wanda to win the Champions of Chinese Jia-A League. However, in 1994 season,because of left leg knee meniscus injury surgery, Zhao Lin lose the team main force position after he return to football team.[1]
In 1997, Zhao Lin was on loan to Chengdu Wuniu which was a football club in China League Two, He helped the Chengdu Wuniu win the runners-up in that season and upgrade to Jia-B League. In 1998 he transferred to Xiamen Fairwiell. Xiamen Fairwiell won the championship of Jia-B in the 1999 season. In the secondary transfer after six months of the 2000 season, he chose to leave the team. In 2001, Zhao Lin went to Dalian Sidelong and work as the captain, Dalian Sidelong won the championship of China League Two and upgrade successfully. In 2002, he joined Dalian Sande, in the 2002 season of China League Two, Dalian Sande fail to Guangdong Xiongying, Dalian Sande failed to upgrade, Zhao Lin announced his retirement.
In 2003, Zhao Lin began to work as assistant coach of Dalian Shide F.C. and coach of reserve team. Zhao Lin left the club in 2004.[2]
International career
In 1992 Zhao Lin was called up to China by Schlappner and included in the China national football team squad for the 1992 AFC Asian Cup, however he did not feature in any of the games. in 1993,Zhao Lin faced a left leg ligament tear and had to quit the national team. After that Zhao Lin never got a chance to play for the China national football team squad.
