The 2017 Atlanta United FC season will be the first season of Atlanta United FC's existence, and their first season in Major League Soccer, the top-tier of American soccer. United will be playing at Mercedes-Benz Stadium and will be coached by Gerardo Martino. Outside of MLS, it is expected that Atlanta United will also be participating in the 2017 U.S. Open Cup, as well as various preseason competitions.

This will be the first year since 1981 that a first-division American soccer team has played in Atlanta, since the Atlanta Chiefs dissolved.
