Akal Takht Express is a popular Indian Railways express train connecting eastern Indian city of Kolkata with northern Indian city of Amritsar.
Background
It is a superfast class train travelling 1,900 kilometres (1,200 mi) at an average speed of 63 kilometres per hour (39 mph). It has sleeper, third AC, second AC, first Ac. general type of coaches. Pantry car facility is not available with this train.[1][2]
Route
It commences its journey from the Kolkata railway station and travels through the Indian states of West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab to reach Amritsar of Punjab.
It passes through Asansol, Jasidih, Kiul], Jhajha, Patna Junction, Mughalsarai Junction, Varanasi Junction, Lucknow Charbagh, Saharanpur Junction, Ambala Cantonment, Ludhiana, and Jalandhar City.
