Bahria Town Rawalpindi

Bahria Town Rawalpindi is a gated upper middle class neighbourhood located within the Rawalpindi District; it is part of the Islamabad Rawalpindi metropolitan area. It has a population of about 100,000 people and is developed by the Bahria Town Group.[1] The town is divided into nine phase's which is separated into two compounds, spreading on each side of the Grand Trunk Road. Prior to its development in late-1990s, the land was owned mainly communal.[2][3][4]

Geography

Bahria Town Rawalpindi is divided into two compound's divided in each side of the GT Road. The older, smaller eastern compound is home to its first six phase's and is bordered by the Sawan River in the south, the Korang River in the west and the PWD Housing Society with the east. The newer, larger western compound include's Phase 7 and 8, the compound is also linked bordered with DHA Phase 1 on the west and the under-construction DHA Phase 3 on the east.[5]

The 165-room Grand Hyatt Rawalpindi is under construction in Bahria Town Rawalpindi.[8]

There are no public hospital's within the town, however there are three private hospital's.

Several school's and college's are located on the main GT Road, just outside of Bahria Town.
