The Belarusian First League is the second division of professional football in Belarus. There are 16 teams in the competition. At the end of the season the winner gets promoted to Belarusian Premier League and runner-up advances to the promotion play-offs, while two lowest-placed teams are relegated to Belarusian Second League and get replaced with two top Second League teams. It is organized by the Belarusian Football Federation.
