Blackwater Ecological Preserve

Coordinates: 36°48′53″N 76°51′8″W / 36.81472°N 76.85222°W / 36.81472; -76.85222 The Blackwater Ecological Preserve is a Natural Area Preserve located in the area of Zuni, Virginia and run by Old Dominion University. It is home to flatwoods of longleaf pine and turkey oak and savannas of longleaf pine, two of the rarest plant communities in Virginia. The longleaf pine is the northernmost natural occurrence of the species.
