1962 Australian Gran Prix
The 1962 Australian Grand Prix became a big test for the financially strapped West Australian Club, but they managed to pull it off just.
During the race a fierce contest was brewing between Jack Brabham in his Australian built car and the Australian Grand Prix rookie Bruce McLaren in a Cooper Climax.
Brabham would be forced from the race after hitting a back marker in the latter stages of the race allowing McLaren to take the victory.[2]
