Calamine is an unincorporated community in Sharp County, Arkansas, United States.[1]

History

Zinc mining gave the town its start, hence the name calamine.[2] Calamine has been noted for its unusual place name.[3]

On April 26, 2011, a tornado reportedly hit the Calamine area causing one death (see April 25–28, 2011 tornado outbreak).
