Darlington Railway Athletic Football Club is a football club based in Darlington, England. In 1992 the club hit financial trouble and folded, but was reformed by Martyn Jackson in 1993.

They first joined the Northern League in 1919, leaving in 1925. The club won the Wearside Football League in 2005 which earned them promotion back to the Northern League, where in their first season they won another promotion to reach the Northern League Division One. However, they were relegated down again, and since 2013 are in the Northern League Division Two.

History

The club was formed shortly after the First World War and started out in the Darlington & District League. Little is known of the club in the early seasons but in 1919–20 the club joined the Northern League. They found the going tough and after finishing second bottom in the 1924–25 season they returned to the Darlington & District League.

The second era came in the 1960s and 70s when the club went through its most successful period. In 1964 they won the Darlington & District League and then the League and League Cup double in 1968. Two years later they were North Riding Cup winners and runners-up in 1973. The club's greatest success was their triumph in the 1975 Durham Amateur Cup. In 1981 they almost repeated the feat, narrowly losing in the final.
