Edathala is a census town near to Aluva. It is in Ernakulam district, in the state of Kerala, India.
Demographics
As of 2001 India census,[1] Edathala had a population of 67,137. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Edathala has an average literacy rate of 80%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 83%, and female literacy is 77%. In Edathala, 11% of the population is under 6 years of age. 70% of population belongs to middle class.
Chunangamvely is a well-known village located near to Edathala. Pookkattupady is one of the most popular junctions in Edathala.
Education
Many schools are there in Edathala. Swamy gopalananda Theertha Saraswathy Vidyanikethan,Al Hind Public School, Al-Ameen International public school, KMEA public school, KNM MES high school, Govt Higher secondary school Kunjattukara are some among them.
One of the premier engineering colleges, KMEA engineering college, is also situated in Edathala. AL-Ameen College is also located in Edathala.

Royal Plastic Industries, a leader in plastic flower pots; Hi-Tech Engineering, a forerunner in structural fabrication situated at Pukkattupady. Tollins tyres, vysali pharmaseuticals, karothukuzhi plastics are also situated in Edathala.
