The Federation of Ice Hockey League, Inc. (FIHL) is the national governing body for the sport of ice hockey. It handled the formation of the Philippine National Ice Hockey team that will participate in international ice hockey tournaments, together with the acquisition foreign coaches, creating ice hockey tournaments around the country and partnering with different sponsors including SM Supermalls.[1]
The FIHL was formed in February 2015,[2] and was later admitted as an associate member of the International Ice Hockey Federation on May 20, 2016.[3][4]
By July 2016, the federation has already gained Philippine Olympic Committee membership.[5]
