Senate elections were held in Haiti on 20 November 2016, with a second round where required on 29 January 2017.[1] The elections were held simultaneously with the presidential elections and the second round of the parliamentary elections that still have a run-off pending in some constituencies since 2015.
On 10 August 2016 authorities published the list of candidates for the renewal for a third of the Senate.[2]
Originally scheduled for 9 October, the elections were postponed until 20 November 2016 because of Hurricane Matthew, and a new date have been announced.[3][4]
