International Vedic Hindu University
Coordinates: 28°32′33″N 81°15′06″W / 28.5424°N 81.2518°W International Vedic Hindu University (formerly Hindu University of America)[1][2] is a U.S. non-profit educational institution based in Orlando, Florida.
History
The university was founded on October 24, 1993 (Vijayadashami), and acquired a 9.7-acre (39,000 m2) campus property with two buildings in 2000. A residential facilitliy for full-time faculty was constructed in 2002. In 2009 the university reported it had 8,000 students taking courses either on campus or via the Internet.[2] The university offers graduate level courses in the ancient language of Sanskrit, Hindu philosophy, yoga, ayurveda, jyotish medicinal chemistry.[2]
Accreditation
The university states that it is accredited by the National Private Schools Accreditation Alliance.[3]
