International Newport series

The International Newport Series is a series of cabover trucks that were produced by International Harvester and its corporate successor Navistar. Introduced in 1981 as the replacement for the Transtar II COE, the final Newport COEs were built in 1998. Subsequently, the tooling was sent to Brazil where the Newport was made until 2015 catering mostly to regional exports to Chile and Bolivia and RHD versions for Australia and South Africa.[1]

An International 9800 still in use in Russia

The 9800 is also notable in that it was the first successful flat floor cabover, meaning that there was no engine compartment or "doghouse" separating the driver and passenger seats, and also enabling easier access to the sleeper compartment.
