K. Purushothama Kurup or K. P. Kurup is a politician and present municipal chairman of Paravur municipality in Kollam district, India.[2] He is an active politician and CPI(M)'s Chathannoor area committee secretary. Now he is in his third turn as the municipal chairman of Paravur.[3] He had also represented the opposition leader position in Paravur many times.[4]
K. P. Kurup is hailing from Koonayil in Paravur town. He is the current elected representative from Peral division of Paravur municipality where the highest polling percentage in Paravur town was reported during the last local body election, held in 2015.[5][6]
