KIT College of Engineering

Coordinates: 16°39′14″N 74°15′44″E / 16.654016°N 74.262146°E / 16.654016; 74.262146 Established in May 1983[1] Kolhapur Institute of Technology's College of Engineering is situated in Gokul Shirgaon, India, 7 km away from Kolhapur Railway Station. Sprawled over 30 acres (120,000 m2) of campus, it is the first self-financed engineering college in Maharashtra and has been awarded "A" status by the government of Maharashtra in recognition of its academic excellence and infrastructure.Moreover, it is also accredited by NAAC as 'A' grade college with CGPA 3.12 & N.B.A with the same 'A' grade.

It is affiliated to Shivaji University, Kolhapur, and is approved by AICTE, New Delhi.[1] Menon Pistons Pvt. Ltd. are one of the founding members of the institute and patrons of the same.Bharat Patil are Vice Chairman of the Institute.

Facilities

The college has a campus of 30 acres (120,000 m2) adjacent to National Highway 4 and 500m away The campus has a basketball court, a cricket ground,and a gymnasium.

Owing to its distance from the city, it is free from pollution and the architecture gives a blend of old and modern. The main building built in stone masonry has green technologies like a waste recycling system, windmills, gardens dotted with solar powered lamps and is an Energy Park.

The campus has classrooms, drawing halls, laboratories, seminar halls, library, canteen, an open-air auditorium, and a gym.

Annual events include Pioneer (a national level paper presentation competition), and the annual social gathering.
