Kannonkoski is a municipality of Finland.

It is located in the province of Western Finland and is part of the Central Finland region. The municipality has a population of 1,452 (31 March 2016)[2] and covers an area of 549.62 square kilometres (212.21 sq mi) of which 104.87 km2 (40.49 sq mi) is water.[1] There are all together 81 lakes in Kannonkoski. Biggest lakes are Kivijärvi, Vuosjärvi and Kannonselkä.[6]The population density is 3.26 inhabitants per square kilometre (8.4/sq mi).

The municipality is unilingually Finnish.

February 22, 1971: a school bus and a rail car collided at a level crossing 2.5 miles north of Kannonkoski station; six children were killed and some passengers were slightly injured.
