Meridian VP F.C. is an English football club located in Charlton, in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, London.[1] The club is affiliated to the Kent County Football Association and is a FA chartered Standard Club.[2][3] The club plays in the Southern Counties East League Division One and the initials VP stand for 'Valley Park'.
History
The club was founded in 1995.[2] They started playing in the Dartford & District League in which they finished runners-up in 1999–2000.[4] The team won its first silverware in 2002–03 in the form of the Bawcutt League Cup.[4] The club had previously finished runners-up in the competition three times in succession.[4] The club has also been runner-up in the Keys Cup once and runner-up in the Hospitals Charity Cup twice.[4]
The club then joined Division three West of the Kent County Football League for the start of the 2003–04 season.[5] Division Three West was disbanded a season later and the club moved to Division Two West, where it then spent the next seven seasons.[5] The club were successful in applying for the Kent Invicta League and became one of the founder members for the 2011–12 season.[5]

Meridian play their home games at Meridian Sports & Social Club, Charlton Park Lane, Charlton, London, SE7 8QS.
Colours
Meridian's colours are sky blue shirts, shorts and socks.[2] The away kit is red shirts, shorts and socks.[2]
Veterans team
The club also runs a team for older players. One player, Derek May, still plays regularly for the veterans team despite being 74 years old and scored his 1,300th goal in 2012.[6][7]
