Murar is a village in Kapurthala district of Punjab State, India. It is located 13 kilometres (8.1 mi) from Kapurthala, which is both district and sub-district headquarters of Murar. The village is administrated by a sarpanch, an elected representative of the village.^[2]

According to the report published by Census India in 2011, Murar has 412 houses with the total population of 1,987 persons of which 1,051 are male and 936 females.
