Myrtle, Missouri

Myrtle is a small, unincorporated community in Oregon County, Missouri.[1] It is fourteen miles southeast of Alton, near the Arkansas state line.

Myrtle was laid out in 1878, and named after Myrtle Moore, the daughter of a local merchant.[2] A post office called Myrtle has been in operation since 1884.[3]

Children attend Couch Public School, a few miles north of town on Highway 142.[4]
