Route description

Northwood and Strafford

NH 202A is an alternate route to US 202 between Northwood and Rochester. For the most part, NH 202A runs north and west of, but roughly parallel to, its parent route. NH 202A begins in Northwood as an offshoot of US 202, which is overlapped with NH 9, and heads due north towards the town of Strafford. NH 202A runs into the center of town, intersecting and briefly overlapping NH 126 before turning eastward. NH 202A runs to the northeast towards Rochester.

Rochester

NH 202A enters Rochester from the west. Before entering the heart of the city, NH 202A passes under the Spaulding Turnpike (NH 16, also carrying US 202) without an interchange. The nearest interchanges to the turnpike and US 202 are facilitated at Exit 13 via Washington Street (which becomes US 202 westbound at that interchange), Exit 14 via Ten Rod Road (partial interchange), or Exit 15 via North Main Street (NH 11). After less than 1 mile (1.6 km), NH 202A turns onto North Main Street and ends at the intersection of North Main Street, South Main Street (NH 108, which also ends here), and Columbus Avenue (NH 125). From the end of NH 202A one may turn left or right onto NH 125 or continue straight onto NH 108 southbound.
