Pac-Man & Galaga Dimensions is a compilation of games from the Pac-Man and Galaga franchises for the Nintendo 3DS, by Namco Bandai Games. It includes six games, two of which are developed specifically for the Nintendo 3DS for the compilation (Pac-Man Tilt and Galaga 3D Impact).[1][2] The collection also includes a trailer for the 3D Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures television show by Avi Arad.
Games
- Pac-Man Tilt
- Galaga 3D Impact
- Pac-Man Championship Edition
- Galaga Legions
- Pac-Man (original arcade game)
- Galaga (original arcade game)
Pac-Man Tilt is the only included game which does not take advantage of the system's Stereoscopic 3D display, as its heavy use of the accelerometer and gyroscope made it incompatible with the limited 3D viewing angle of the 3DS.[3] The original arcade games (Pac-Man and Galaga) use the 3D to create the effect of looking into a physical arcade cabinet. Pac-Man appears with arms and legs, a departure from the original Pac-Man.[4]
Pac-Man Tilt
Pac-Man Tilt is a side scrolling action platformer. Common obstacles are springs, pinball flippers, and ghosts. Tilting the 3DS changes the direction of gravity.
Galaga 3D Impact
Galaga 3D Impact is a 3D on-rails shooter game in which the player aims and steers by moving the 3DS in a fixed position relative to his or her head in a way similar to Face Raiders (a game included with the 3DS hardware). A tractor beam enables the player to absorb enemies and upgrade their ship.
Leaderboards
All of the included games also have online leaderboards which are sorted out by "Weekly" and "Overall".
