Riku Matsuda (松田陸 Matsuda, Riku, born July 24, 1991) is a Japanese football player, who plays for Cerezo Osaka as a defender.

Career

He has Indonesian roots[1] and his twin brother is Riki Matsuda, forward of Nagoya Grampus. During his time in high school, he was converted from forward to a defending role.[2]

After four years attending the Biwako Seikei Sport College and becoming the side-captain,[3] Matsuda signed for FC Tokyo in 2014.[4] In 2013, he was registered from the club as Special Designated Player.[5]

He decided to leave the capital club after 2015.[6] In January 2016, Matsuda signed with his home-club, Cerezo Osaka.[7]
