Rio Linhas Aéreas is a cargo airline, based in Curitiba, Paraná state, Brazil. The main goal of the airline is to become the only Brazilian Airline dedicated to provide ACMI (Wet Lease) services, but it is pending regulatory approval.

Rio Linhas Aéreas has night flight contracts to transport mail and packages for Correios (Brazilian Postal Service)

History

The airline originally operated as JetSul since 1998, however, it suspended operations in order to reestructurate. In 2007 it started studies and tests, cargo services started in 2008, after receiving regulatory approval. It has codeshare agreements with Globex Cargo and Smart Cargo.

In 2014, the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) approved the purchase of 49.99% by Brazilian Correios.

Infrastructure

The airline has in its Hub a 12000 sq. meters (129166 sq. ft.) warehouse, where it has a complete infrastructure installed from which the airline operations are administrated and controlled.
