Roberto Gagliardini (born 7 April 1994) is an Italian footballer who plays as a midfielder for Serie A club Atalanta.

Club career

Born in Bergamo, Gagliardini began his career on hometown's Atalanta's youth categories, and was promoted to main squad for 2013–14 season, receiving the no. 61 jersey.

On 4 December 2013 Gagliardini made his professional debut, starting in a 2-0 home win over Sassuolo, for the campaign's Coppa Italia.[1]

On 17 January of the following year he was loaned to Cesena.[2] Gagliardini scored his first professional goal eight days later, in a 3–1 win at Varese.[3] On 1 September 2014 he was signed by Spezia Calcio.[4] On 29 July 2015 Gagliardini moved to Vicenza Calcio.[5]

International career

On 28 February 2014 Gagliardini was called up to Italy U-20's.[6] On 12 August 2015 he made his debut with Italy U21 side, in a friendly match against Hungary.

In November 2016, Gagliardini was called up to the senior squad for the first time for 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualification match against Liechtenstein and friendly match against Germany.[7]
