Rukkan (Urdu: ركن ) is a village of Mandi Bahauddin District, Punjab, Pakistan. It is away from District Mandi Bahauddin up to 31 km and 17 km from Tehsil Malakwal and 4 km from Gojra.

History

In past it was the part of District Shah pur sadar whom tehsil was Sargodha and Rukkan was the sub-tehsil of the district. Until the creation of district Mandi bahauddin it was under the administration of District gujrat with Phalia Tehsil.

Population

Rukkan is a largest village of Malakwal tehsil. Population of the village is 50000. The registered voters are almost 15400. Rukkan is a union council.People are mostly farmers.Many people are working abroad.

Education

People of Rukkan are highly educated. Literacy rate of the village going higher and higher. Many students are studying Sargodha,Gujrat,Lahore and Rawalpindi in colleges and universities.There are 23 schools, 6 Madrasas and 11 mosques in town.The results of Rah-E-Alam school is surprisingly good in last few years and teams of school get many achievements in sports.It is best school and college in the town and is producing an outstanding result since 2006
