Salahad

Salahad is one of the woredas in the Somali Region of Ethiopia. Part of the Fiq Zone, Salahad is bordered on the south by the Afder Zone, on the west by the Oromia Region, on the north by Lagahida, on the northeast by Hamero, and on the east by Dihun.

Demographics

Based on the 2007 Census conducted by the Central Statistical Agency of Ethiopia (CSA), this woreda has a total population of 34,082, of whom 19,355 are men and 14,727 women. While 829 or 2.43% are urban inhabitants, a further 28,976 or 85.02% are pastoralists. 99.33% of the population said they were Muslim.[1] The largest inhabitants are shekhal and Ogaden Clans.
