Sosnovoborsk (Russian: Сосновобо́рск) is a town in Krasnoyarsk Krai, Russia, located on the right bank of the Yenisei River, 45 kilometers (28 mi) northeast of Krasnoyarsk. Population: 33,091(2010 Census);[3] 30,586(2002 Census);[5] 29,686(1989 Census).[6]

History

It was founded in 1971 as a work settlement. It was granted town status in 1985.

Administrative and municipal status

Within the framework of administrative divisions, it is incorporated as the krai town of Sosnovoborsk—an administrative unit with the status equal to that of the districts.[1] As a municipal division, the krai town of Sosnovoborsk is incorporated as Sosnovoborsk Urban Okrug.[2]
