Tony Segura, Jr.

Gonzalo "Tony" Segura, Jr. (1919 - 1991) was a gay rights activist. He is best remembered as a co-founder of the Mattachine Society.

Biography

Gonzalo Segura, Jr., commonly known as "Tony," was born in 1919.

Segura attended and graduated from Emory University before going to work on the Manhattan Project.

He co-founded the Mattachine Society in New York City; in 1959, he was member of the year.[1] He founded the Richmond Gay Rights Association.[2]
