Uluberia subdivision is a subdivision of the Howrah district in the state of West Bengal, India. It consists of Uluberia municipality and nine CD blocks: UluberiaI, UluberiaII, AmtaI, AmtaII, Udaynarayanpur, BagnanI, BagnanII, ShyampurI and ShyampurII. The nine blocks contain 90 gram panchayats and six census towns. The subdivision has its headquarters at Uluberia.

Area

Apart from the Uluberia municipality, the subdivision contains six census towns and rural areas of 90 gram panchayats under nine CD blocks: UluberiaI, UluberiaII, AmtaI, AmtaII, Udaynarayanpur, BagnanI, BagnanII, ShyampurI and ShyampurII.[1] The six census towns are: Khalor, Bagnan, Naupala, Santoshpur, Balaram Pota and Uttar Pirpur.[2]

UluberiaI block

Rural area under UluberiaI block consists of nine gram panchayats: Bahira, HatgachhaI, Kalinagar, Chandipur, HatgachhaII, Maheshpur, Birshibpur,Dhulasimla, Heerapur and Tapna.[1] There is no urban area under this block.[2] Uluberia police station serves this block.[3] Headquarters of this block is in Uluberia.[4]

UluberiaII block

Rural area under UluberiaII block consists of eight gram panchayats: Baniban, Khalisani, TehattaKantaberiaI, TehattaKantaberiaII, Basudevpur, Raghudevpur, Joargori and Tulsiberia.[1] Urban area under this block consists of three census towns: Santoshpur, Balaram Pota and Uttar Pirpur.[2] Uluberia police station serves this block.[3] Headquarters of this block is in Kusberia.[4]

AmtaI block

Rural area under AmtaI block consists of 13 gram panchayats: Amta, Bhandargachha, Khosalpur, UdangII, Anulia, Chandrapur, Raspur, Balichak, Kanpur, Sirajbati, Basantapur, Khardah and UdangI.[1] There is no urban area under this block.[2] Amta police station serves this block.[3] Headquarters of this block is in Amta.[4]

AmtaII block

Rural area under AmtaII block consists of 14 gram panchayats: Amragori, Ghoraberia Chitnan, Khalna, Tajpur, Bhatora, Jhamtia, Kasmoli, Thalia, Binola Krishnabati, Jaypur, Kusberia, Gazipur, Jhikhira and Noyapara.[1] There is no urban area under this block.[2] Jaypur and Amta police stations serve this block.[3] Headquarters of this block is in Jaypur Fakirdas.[4]

Udaynarayanpur block

Rural area under Udaynarayanpur block consists of 11 gram panchayats: Bhabanipur Bidhichandrapur, Harali Udaynarayanpur, Khila, RampurDihibhursut Asanda, Kurchi Shibpur, Debipur, Harishpu,Raghunathpur, GarbhabanipurSonatala, Kanupat Mansuka, Pancharul and Singti.[1] There is no urban area under this block.[2] Udaynarayanpur police station serves this block.[3] Headquarters of this block is in Udaynaryanpur.[4]

BagnanI block

Rural area under BagnanI block consists of ten gram panchayats: BagnanI, Baksihat, HaturiaII, Sabsit, BagnanII, Bangalpur, Kalyanpur, Bainan, HaturiaI and Khalore.[1] Urban area under this block consists of two census towns: Khalor and Bagnan.[2] Bagnan police station serves this block.[3] Headquarters of this block is in Bagnan.[4]

BagnanII block

Rural area under BagnanII block consists of seven gram panchayats: Antila, Chandrabhag, Mugkalyan Benapur, BantulBaidyanathpur, Saratchandra, Halyan and Orphooli.[1] Urban area under this block consists of one census town: Naupala.[2] Bagnan police station serves this block.[3] Headquarters of this block is in Khalor.[4]

ShyampurI block

Rural area under ShyampurI block consists of ten gram panchayats: Balichaturi, Belari, Kamalpur, Shyampur, BaneswarpurI, Dhandali, Nabagram, BaneswarpurII, Dingakhola and Radhapur.[1] There is no urban area under this block.[2] Shyampur police station serves this block.[3] Headquarters of this block is in Shyampur.[4]

ShyampurII block

Rural area under ShyampurII block consists of eight gram panchayats: Amardaha, Bargram, DihimondalghatII, Nakol, Bachhri, DihimondalghatI, Kharuberia and Shashati.[1] There is no urban area under this block.[2] Shyampur police station serves this block.[3] Headquarters of this block is in Sasati.[4]

Legislative segments

As per order of the Delimitation Commission in respect of the delimitation of constituencies in West Bengal, the Uluberia municipality area and the gram panchayats of Khalisani and Raghudevpur under the UluberiaII block will together form the Uluberia Purba assembly constituency of West Bengal. All the other six gram panchayats under the UluberiaII block and eight gram panchayats under the AmtaI block: Amta, Bhandargachha, Chandrapur, Khardah, Raspur, Sirajbati, UdangI and UdangII, will together form the Uluberia Uttar assembly constituency. The other five gram panchayats under the AmtaI block will form the Udaynarayanpur assembly constituency along with the area under the Udaynarayanpur block. The UluberiaI block and the gram panchayats of Belari, Dhandali, Balichaturi and Nabagram under the ShyampurI block will together form the Uluberia Dakshin assembly constituency. The other six gram panchayats under the ShyampurI block and all the eight gram panchayats under the ShyampurII block will together form the Shyampur assembly constituency. The BagnanII block and the gram panchayats of BagnanI, BagnanII, Bangalpur, HaturiaI, HaturiaII and Khalore of the BagnanI block will form the Bagnan assembly constituency. The other four gram panchayats under the BagnanI block and the AmtaII block will together form the Amta assembly constituency. The Uluberia Uttar constituency will be reserved for Scheduled castes (SC) candidates. All these seven assembly constituencies will together form the Uluberia (Lok Sabha constituency).[5]
