WXMZ (99.9 FM) is a radio station that is licensed to and serving Hartford, Kentucky, USA. The station is owned by Radio Active Media, Inc.

The station's signal coverage includes most of Ohio County, and portions of neighboring counties.

History

The station was originally WLLS-FM when the station signed on in 1972, playing a Top 40 format under a branding of LS 106. It was simulcast on the now-defunct WAIA (which at the time was WLLS-AM). The calls were switched to WKHB on October 1, 1996. The current calls were assigned by the Federal Communications Commission on March 19, 1999.[1]

On September 27, 2012, WXMZ moved to its current frequency of 99.9 MHz.

Programming

The station currently broadcasts an Oldies format.[2] The station's programming also includes a mid-day show called Lunch at the Z with Jerry Wright.
