Yaa Asantewaa Secondary School (Yaghs) is an all female second cycle institution in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.
Location
Yaa Asantewaa Secondary is located in a suburb called Tanoso in the Atwima District in Ashanti Region (Kumasi).
History
Yaa Asantewaa Secondary was established in 1951 by Ghana's first President Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. The school was however started in 1960 with funds from the Ghana Education Trust. Yaa Asantewaa as the name implies was named after the Queen mother of Ejisu Yaa Asantewaa who led a war against the British Colonialists.[1]

Yaa Asantewaa Secondary, maintains an ongoing alliance with their boys' school, Prempeh College called Amanadehye.
