Club career

Real Madrid

Born in Dos Torres, Province of Córdoba, Medrán played youth football for local teams before joining Real Madrid's youth setup in 2011, aged 17.

After being promoted to the C-team in the 2013 summer, Medrán played his first match as a professional on 23 February 2014, coming on as a second-half substitute in a 2–0 win at Real Zaragoza for the B-team in the Segunda División championship.[1] He scored his first professional goals on 31 May, netting a brace in a 2–1 home success against CE Sabadell FC.[2]

Medrán made his first team – and La Liga – debut on 18 October 2014, replacing Luka Modrić in the 79th minute of a 5–0 away routing over Levante UD.[3] On 9 December 2014, in his UEFA Champions League debut, he scored his first senior goal for the club, after replacing Gareth Bale in the 83rd minute and netting the last of a 4–0 win over Ludogorets Razgrad five minutes later.[4]

Getafe (loan)

On 2 July 2015 Medrán was loaned to Getafe CF also in the top division, in a season-long deal.[5] He scored his first goal in the main category on 24 April, netting his team's first in a 2–2 home draw against Valencia CF; he added another one on 15 May, but in a 1–2 loss at Real Betis which ensured his team's relegation.

Valencia

On 11 July 2016, Medrán signed a four-year deal with Valencia CF.[6]
