Alexander James Stewart MSP is a Scottish Conservative Party politician who has been a Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) for the Mid Scotland and Fife region since in the election in May 2016.[1]
In 2016 he stood for the Scottish Parliament as the Conservative candidate for Clackmannanshire and Dunblane where he came third,[2] then was elected from the regional list.
In 2015 he stood in the UK general election as the Conservative candidate for Perth and North Perthshire, coming second to the Scottish National Party (SNP)'s Pete Wishart, who was returned with a near 10,000 majority.[3]
He is also councillor for Perth City South, and has been an elected member for 13 years.[4]
