Bofarreira is a village in the northern part of the island of Boa Vista in the Cape Verde archipelago. The village is around 10 km east of the island capital of Sal Rei. Once the geography was simply desert, now the area became forested as a grove as trees were planted, the northern part remains a desert and a large sandy beach dominates the north.
Bofarreira was once a tiny settlement with less than 20 people and was connected only by track, it became a small road in the 1970s and linked with Sal Rei and another to Rabil, the western portion would be paved. Construction of the northern island road began in 2010 and completed in 2011/2012, the southeastern portion would be a new creation, the rest would become paved. The road connects bypassing Sal-Rei and to João Galego.
